The Reopening Paradox: Job Are Up, But Where Are the Workers to Fill Them?

As more jobs are added, U.S. economy is facing a labor shortage due, in part, to the post-Pandemic retirement of 2.5 million Americans. That’s about twice the number who retired in 2019, which means there are essentially 1.2 million fewer people in the work force over the age of 55 than would otherwise be expected.

I recently contributed my opinion for an article published in Financial Advisor. In the article, I share how I believe the labor shortage will impact inflation, economic growth and ultimately the county’s middle and upper middle class’ standard of living.
