We bet your pocketbook already knows the answer!
Michelle Connell, CFA was asked by Joy Wiltermuth of MarketWatch to weigh in on this timely topic. In the article published Thursday, May 27, Michelle discusses inflation and it’s effects on the average working family.
No doubt every time you go to the grocery store or Home Depot, you would swear that you are paying more for less. If you’re not part of the wealthiest, you have been hit hard by higher prices-even before the pandemic! The bottom 90 percent of the population spending 99 percent of their take home income, whereas the top 10 percent are only spending 63 percent and investing the rest.
While the Fed and the investment markets pontificate as to whether inflation is “transitory” or not, middle- and lower-income Americans are living the reality. Who will be hurt if the Federal Reserve and the government continue pouring money into an economy that is already roaring back to its pre-pandemic GDP — and possibly beyond?
